Yugi Mutou is a seventeen year old Japanese high schooler who loves games. A few years ago he solved the Millennium Puzzle - an ancient mystical item from Egypt - that would grant him one wish. Since then, Yugi has been accompanied the spirit of an amnesiac Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh who he refers to as "my other self." He now acts as the vessel and protector of the Pharaoh's spirit and the Millennium Puzzle itself. The two use Duel Monsters to settle magical battles, as it is the re-imagined form of the ancient Shadow Games.

- Most of Yugi's magical powers come from the fact he is the wielder of the Millennium Puzzle. It grants him heightened awareness in games, the ability to connect to people's emotions (although the kid is an empathetic sponge, he doesn't need the Puzzle for that), and the ability to enter and create Shadow Games. - Shadow Games (Yami no Game) are games set within a magical context. The stakes are high as well as punishments for losing the game or breaking its rules. Typically, Yami Yugi/Atem is the one that initiates these, but nothing says Yugi can't!
What is your character's greatest strength? FRIENDSHIP The ability to not only make friends, but to understand their hearts. He can see his biggest rival as one of his closest friends, and also understand the pain that Marik went through despite the fact that Marik is attempting to kill him. He's extremely kind and is able to even teach the ancient Pharaoh the lesson of understanding the people around him.
What is your character's fatal flaw? He's far too kind and trusting. Yugi can almost be seen as naive with how willing he is to give people a chance, despite if they've wronged him or not. He will even go to extreme lengths to save his enemies as well as his friends. Including getting his soul sealed away and nearly dying a few times.
If your character could have one wish granted, what would they ask for? Technically this has already been granted. However, Yugi wished for "true friends" that would never betray him, and ones he'd never betray. It's left a little ambiguous if the Puzzle granted this wish or if he was able to make it come true on his own due to the confidence of having the Puzzle be solved. Though, yeah, this kid would love more friends.
